Pomník Jana Žižky z Trocnova

A four-meter-high monument was unveiled in a small park on Jiráskova Street on 28 September 1924 to mark the 500th anniversary of the death of Jan Žižka of Trocnov. The monument is four meters high. The stone, which was supplied by the city, is a bronze relief of Žižka's head made according to the design of the Czechoslovak Socialist Party. From the artistic point of view, the Pilsen sculptor Vojtěch Šíp supervised the appearance of the monument; Jan Struska, the owner of the stone factory, carried out the technical work. Žižka's relief was created in the workshop of Vojtěch Šíp by the sculptor Václav Koukolíček and his bronze cast was made by V. Rudolf in Pilsen. The ceremonial unveiling took place with the participation of the army, representatives of many associations and citizens.
